Norfolk shooting today news, 2 dead, 5 injured – active shooter

Two people were killed in a late-night shooting involving a college student in Norfolk, Virginia.

Norfolk police were arrested in the 5000 block of Killam Street around midnight Saturday night. Call to investigate the shooting.

When police arrived at the scene, they found four women and three men with gunshot wounds. All victims were taken to hospital. Two of the victims, a man and a woman, suffered fatal injuries and later died in hospital.

The victims were later identified as Zabre Miler, 25, and Angelia McKnight, 19.

The shooting happened a few blocks from Old Dominican University. Although the incident occurred near the campus, no ODU students were injured, the school said.

However, Norfolk State University confirmed in a tweet that several of its students were injured in off-campus shootings.

The full tweet reads: “Norfolk Police Department notified us that several NSU students were the victims of a shooting at a remote off-campus location near 50th Street and Hampton Avenue. NSU Police have secured the NSU campus. Counseling services are available to any student in need of services.”

A Norfolk police investigation revealed that the shooting took place at a house party and the injured NSU student was a bystander, according to NSU.
